LIVESTOCK AND DAIRY DEVELOPMENT TRADE GROUP

The Livestock and Dairy Development Trade Group serves as the strategic platform for stakeholders within Taraba State’s thriving animal husbandry sector. Leveraging the state's massive livestock population and the unique grazing ecology of the Mambilla Plateau, the Group is dedicated to transforming traditional pastoralism into a modern, commercial agribusiness industry. By uniting ranchers, dairy farmers, and investors, we aim to unlock the full potential of the state’s livestock value chain.

The Trade Group facilitates direct connections between producers and major off-takers, meat processors, and dairy firms, ensuring profitable market channels for livestock products. Members gain a collective voice to advocate for critical infrastructure, such as grazing reserves and veterinary facilities, while securing priority access to financing schemes, agricultural grants, and investment forums tailored for livestock value chain business expansion and modernization.

To ensure operational success, the Group provides mediation services to resolve herder-farmer conflicts, fostering a peaceful operating environment. We organize technical workshops on modern breeding, fodder production, and dairy processing to improve yield and quality. Additionally, we offer guidance on establishing feedlots, abattoirs, and processing units, empowering members to transition from raw production to high-value commercial processing.
