THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF TACCIMA

The Executive Council is the supreme governing body of the Taraba State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (TACCIMA). Comprising elected accomplished business leaders and technocrats, the Council provides strategic direction, policy formulation, and oversight to ensure the Chamber fulfills its mandate of economic development and investment promotion in Taraba State. Composition of the Executive Council:

The leadership hierarchy of TACCIMA typically comprises the following key officers:
The President (President/Chairman of Executive Council). The President presides over all meetings, represents the Chamber in all local and international fora, and serves as the primary spokesperson for the Taraba business community.
The Deputy President assists the President in the discharge of their duties and oversees specific ad-hoc committees (e.g., Infrastructure, Trade Facilitation). Acts in the absence of the President and ensures the implementation of Council resolutions.

  • Vice Presidents (Sectoral/Zonal). TACCIMA typically appoints Vice Presidents to head critical economic sectors relevant to Taraba’s economy:
  • Vice President (Agriculture & Agro-Allied): Oversees the vast agricultural potential of the state.
  • Vice President (Mines & Solid Minerals): Focuses on the mining sector.
  • The Vice President (Commerce) oversees domestic and international trade activities, driving market expansion and commercial opportunities
  • Vice President (Industry & Manufacturing): Oversees industrialization efforts.
  • Vice President (Culture & Tourism): Focuses on the Mambilla Plateau, heritage and eco-tourism potential.
  • The Director General (Secretary to Council) serves as the head of the Secretariat and the chief administrative engine of the Chamber. In this capacity, the DG implements the decisions and policy directives of the Executive Council while overseeing the daily operations of the organization.

Beyond administrative management, the Director General plays a crucial strategic role in advancing the Chamber’s mandate. Key functions include:

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serves as the primary liaison between the Chamber and government agencies, fostering a constructive dialogue between the public and private sectors.
